Effective date: August 5, 2026
MuscleCat is a mobile fitness app where completing real workouts levels up a personal cat companion. This policy explains what information the app handles and, just as importantly, what it doesn't.
MuscleCat works entirely offline. Everything you enter — your profile, workout plans, logged sets, and your cat's progress — is stored only in a local database on your own device. None of it is sent to us or to anyone else. There are no user accounts, no sign-in, and no servers involved in the app's day-to-day operation.
The app stores the following locally, purely so it can function:
None of this requires you to create an account, and none of it identifies you to us — we never see it at all, since it never leaves your device.
The Profile screen includes an optional "Buy me a protein shake" link that opens Ko-fi, a third-party donation site, in your browser. That's an external service with its own privacy policy — this policy doesn't cover it, and using it is entirely your choice.
Profile → Settings → "Reset & clear local data" immediately and permanently deletes your profile, plans, workout history, and cat from your device. Since your device is the only place this data ever existed, that's the entire deletion — there's no copy anywhere else to remove.
MuscleCat isn't directed at children and doesn't knowingly collect information from anyone, regardless of age — again, because nothing is collected off your device in the first place.
A future version of the app may add optional features that involve a server — for example, an opt-in leaderboard to compare progress with other players. If that happens, this policy will be updated first to describe exactly what would be sent and why, and any such feature will be opt-in, not required to use the app.
If this policy changes, the effective date above will be updated. Since the app doesn't collect contact information from you, we'd recommend checking back here occasionally rather than expecting a notification.
If you create an account and consent to cloud sync, some of your information is displayed publicly on our leaderboard, both within the app and on this website — visible to anyone, including people without an account and without needing to log in.
The following information is shown publicly if you have a synced account:
This does not include your email address, password, or any private data — only the fields listed above are ever made public.
This is entirely optional. If you don't create an account, none of your data is ever collected or shown anywhere beyond your own device. If you do create an account, you'll be asked to explicitly agree to this public visibility before registration is completed.
To stop appearing on the leaderboard, delete your account from within the app (Profile → Account → Delete Account). This immediately and permanently removes your leaderboard entry, along with your cloud backup, from our systems.
